Kevin's TV, Video & Audio Repairs.

Kevin and Beverley Cushion established their business in May 1996. "KTV" is situated at:

Shop 2,
Wellington Square,
Corner Stockenström & Wellington Streets,
Denneoord,
George,
Southern Cape Province,
RSA.

Kevin Cushion entered the Television repair trade as an apprentice in England upon leaving school in 1977 joining the international Philips group where he qualified as a Technical Engineer in Electronics.  In 1981 joined a national television service company in South Africa working up to branch manager of the George depot in 1991 until leaving to start "KTV"
in 1996.

"KTV" started out with being appointed the official repair agent for the Telefunken and Pioneer brands before their takeover some two years later.

Following this "KTV"  was appointed the authorized service agent (Southern Cape Province) for Philips South Africa, Samsung Electronics and more recently has secured the service agency for LG Electronics.

All makes of Television, VCR, HiFi, and Microwave Oven's manufactured for the South African market are repaired excluding very old models.  More recently, VCR/DVD combinations, DVD players and recorders, Hard disc recorders, MP3 players, Home Theatre Systems, Plasma display panels, LCD Televisions, Multi -Function Printers and Lazer Printers are now requiring repair and this knowledge has already been passed on to the technical staff at "KTV" through the manufacturers training programme's and valuable CD Rom training aids only supplied to authorized Service Agents.

As the consumer electronics industry is rapidly changing it is vitally important that service & repair businesses keep up with these changes.

Being associated with the product manufacturers is one of prime importance simply because they are the only form of training available and they are responsible to ensure that the service departments are suitably qualified to understand & repair the new technology.

New product training is only available through the manufacturers and therefore only given to their authorized service agents, in addition to this special service tools & equipment such as service remote-controls, without which repairs and adjustments cannot possibly be attempted or carried out, are only supplied to their authorized service agents.  As manufacturers insist on the signing of a 'confidentiality clause' these tools and technical information is not available to the repair trade in general.
