Alphabetical list of South African towns

The name Village of Cullinan had it’s beginnings in 1903 when it was named after the pioneer and entrepreneur Sir Thomas Cullinan. It later came to the fore again in 1905, when the largest pure rough diamond was discovered and named the Cullinan Diamond.  The Cullinan Diamond played a significant role for the village when it received global recognition as a gem of the British Crown Jewels. The quaint town of Cullinan is situated north-east of Pretoria, less than an hours drive, yet it's charming countryside location evokes images of the turn of the century when the diamond industry made Cullinan a bustling centre. The Village of Cullinan makes the perfect weekend getaway or day trip. It offers fascinating things to see and do for the whole family, and provides a wonderful backdrop for some good old fashioned relaxation. You can also wander down Oak Street, boasting tin-roofed Edwardian period miners’ cottages, complete with picket fences, pretty gardens and shady porches or enjoy the many eateries.
